CIC and BSP Host Public Webinar for Credit Awareness Week

THE Credit Information Corp. (CIC), the country’s only public credit registry and credit information repository, in partnership with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), is hosting a series of special webinars titled “#SANAALL, inaalagaan: The CIC Credit Report and Effective Loan Management in the Midst of Covid-19” on April 22 and May 6.

The session discusses helpful tips on how to better manage debt, as well as the importance and relevance of CIC’s credit report to maintaining and improving creditworthiness.

This special webinar series is part of this year’s celebration of Credit Awareness Week pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 568, Series of 1995.

“We believe that we can collectively move away from the lingering stigma of indebtedness through the adoption of CIC credit reports in the management of our financial lives,” said CIC President and CEO Ben Joshua Baltazar.

The webinar features resource speakers, CIC Chief Marketing Specialist Romeo Ofrin and BSP Bank Manager 5 Atty. Clarence Joseph Zosa.

“This Credit Awareness Week, CIC aims to highlight the crucial roles of responsible borrowing and access to credit in economic recovery, and to promote the benefits of our credit information system to borrowers and lenders,” added Baltazar.

“With CIC’s credit reports, financial institutions can more effectively implement risk-based lending to minimize risk while maximizing returns. On the borrower side, with the information in their credit reports and at the CIC Academy educational webinars, they will be informed about their creditworthiness and be able to work towards establishing or improving their creditworthiness,” he explained.
